Final Writing Practice
Dear Parents,
Kindly take note of the following:
1. The boys have completed their final writing practice.
2. The worksheet has been marked and returned to them today.
3. The worksheet is to be kept in the English file.
Kindly note that the boys are strongly encouraged to write at least 2 sentences for each picture so that they would be able to write a minimum of 60 words for the whole story.

In preparation for Term 4
Dear Parents,
Kindly note that I have distributed the following to the boys today:
1. Spelling Lists
*The date for the final Spelling test may change.
2. Grammar and Vocabulary List
3. English file
The boys did a writing worksheet on Monday. It has been marked and returned to them. Kindly ensure that your child puts the worksheet in his English file after he has done the corrections in the pink Write Right booklet (Handout 16). The boys are to re-write their story in the form of a narrative text consisting of four paragraphs. This is the final stage in writing which is known as publishing. You may want to encourage your child to read his story aloud to you and other family members! Enjoy!
On the first day of school in Term 4, kindly remind your child to submit the English file and the pink Write Right booklet.Kindly also ensure that all learning booklets and the AMODES - Comprehension test paper have been checked and signed.

Spelling - Unit 17
Dear Parents,
I wish to apologise for my oversight in administering the Spelling test for Unit 17 on Monday. It was scheduled to be administered in Week 6. Hence, I will carry out the test again on Monday, 5 August.
Kindly also note that there will be NO Spelling test next Monday, 29 July.
I will inform the boys of the date for the final Spelling test (Unit 18) at a much later date.
I do apologise for all the confusion caused.

EL AMODES 2
Dear Parents,
Kindly take note of the following:
1. Your child was given the reading passage for the P1 EL AMODES 2 today. I demonstrated to the boys how the passage should be read and pointed out to them some of the difficult/tricky words. The boys did chorus reading of the passage in class.
2. Your child is required to practise reading the passage. There is NO need to memorise the passage.
3. Kindly remind your child to take note of the pronunciation of the following words-
*safari
*their
*the
4. Your child is required to pronounce ending consonants such as /t/, /s/, etc.
5. The boys will be tested on a one-to-one basis next week (Wed to Fri).
6. Kindly refer to the mark scheme on Page 2.
7. Kindly acknowledge receipt of the reading passage and mark scheme by signing on Page 1, and remind your child to submit the paper for checking tomorrow.
8. Your child may keep the paper for practice at home thereafter.
