Poetry Recitation

Dear Parents, 

Kindly be informed that the boys will be participating in a poetry recitation in Week 4. Every boy will be given a chance to recite the designated poem 'Recipe for a Hippopotamus Sandwich' in front of the class. There is no need to memorise the poem. However, the boys must practise reciting the poem fluently and expressively. Every boy will receive feedback in the form of a checklist completed by a fellow classmate.

Today the boys were given a total of five poems to read. They must practise reciting the first poem 'Hot Dog'. In Week 3, they will recite the poem one by one in front of the class. Feedback on their performance will be given orally by the teacher and classmates.

The other three poems are for the boys' reading pleasure. Kindly ensure that your child keeps the paper at home and practises reciting the poems every day.

The boys shall recite this poem as a form of practice. No assessment will be carried out but feedback will be given to the boys orally by the teacher and classmates.
