Spelling - Unit 17

Dear Parents,

I wish to apologise for my oversight in administering the Spelling test for Unit 17 on Monday. It was scheduled to be administered in Week 6. Hence, I will carry out the test again on Monday, 5 August.

Kindly also note that there will be NO Spelling test next Monday, 29 July.

I will inform the boys of the date for the final Spelling test (Unit 18) at a much later date.

I do apologise for all the confusion caused.

The boys had a great time making their African Savannah! I was in awe of their creativity!

EL AMODES 2

Dear Parents,

Kindly take note of the following:

1. Your child was given the reading passage for the P1 EL AMODES 2 today. I demonstrated to the boys how the passage should be read and pointed out to them some of the difficult/tricky words. The boys did chorus reading of the passage in class.

2. Your child is required to practise reading the passage. There is NO need to memorise the passage.

3. Kindly remind your child to take note of the pronunciation of the following words-
*safari
*their
*the

4. Your child is required to pronounce ending consonants such as /t/, /s/, etc.

5. The boys will be tested on a one-to-one basis next week (Wed to Fri).

6. Kindly refer to the mark scheme on Page 2.

7. Kindly acknowledge receipt of the reading passage and mark scheme by signing on Page 1, and remind your child to submit the paper for checking tomorrow.

8. Your child may keep the paper for practice at home thereafter.

-Kindly supervise your child in completing all the corrections (in GREEN).
*If your child does not have the booklet with him, he has completed all his corrections and his booklet is kept in school.

-Kindly remind your child to bring the following items on Thursday, 18 July:
*2 or more plastic/wooden/paper (wild) animals
*coloured paper (eg. blue, orange, green, brown, etc)

-Kindly assist your child in completing Pages 17 & 18.

We shall resume the weekly Spelling test in Week 2. As next Monday is a school holiday, Unit 15 will be tested on next Tuesday, 9 July. Thereafter, the test will be conducted on every Monday.
